While Dobbs was a United States ruling, decisions of its magnitude do impact the landscape beyond the U.S. And with much attention paid to the United States it is important to note that just 2% of abortions worldwide occur in the U.S.

The Abortion Pill Rescue® Network (APRN), which serves globally, reported a marked rise in Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) “starts,” growing from 1,313 in 2020, to 1,769 in 2022, and reaching 1,924 in 2024. This is an overall increase of 47% and 2024 figures reflect an average approaching 200 reversal starts each month. A reversal start occurs when a woman receives a referral to a provider, the provider determines she is a candidate for APR, and she receives a prescription for APR treatment. Women from all 50 U.S. states and 96 countries contacted APRN in 2024. Approximately 2,000 lives were saved in 2024, and since 2012, statistics show that more than 6,000 lives and counting have been saved through the APRN, which is managed by Heartbeat.
Abortion Pill Reversal is crucial now more than ever, as chemical abortions continue to rise, accounting for an estimated 79 percent of all abortions in 2025, according to the Life Trends report. By 2030, the report predicts, “nearly all U.S. abortions could be chemically based.”
There were 377, 288 life-affirming connections made with the 24/7 pro-life helpline Option Line, also international in scope and managed by Heartbeat. Phone calls to Option Line increased from 48 percent of all connections in 2022 to 64 percent in 2024. Connections include calls, chats, texts, emails, and digital connects. The notable increase in calls highlights the growing demand for direct human support during moments of perceived crisis, the report said.
The Life Trends Report provides Heartbeat and its affiliates the tools to continue to better serve women and families and effectively communicate the positive impact of pregnancy help organizations.
