The United States’ only round-the-clock life-affirming contact center is celebrating the tireless contribution of one of its consultants over two decades.
Option Line Consultant Mardie Laughlin marks 20 years of service this year, hundreds of thousands of lives touched, and a legacy of hope for women, men, and babies across the nation.
Laughlin joined the Option Line in 2005, and since, she has been a steadfast presence, providing compassionate guidance to countless women and men facing unexpected pregnancies.
Option Line®, established in 2003, is the only fully staffed, bilingual pro-life contact center in the United States.
Available 24/7 via phone, live chat, texting, and email, Option Line connects more than 1,100 individuals each day with trusted, life-affirming pregnancy help. Over the years, the helpline has received over seven million contacts, offering guidance on parenting, adoption, and abortion alternatives, while linking those in need with local pregnancy help organizations.

Laughlin has been at the heart of this mission, answering hundreds of thousands of contacts during her time at Option Line. As applications coordinator and team leader, she has consistently ensured that the center’s operations run smoothly, often quietly overseeing the behind-the-scenes work that keeps assistance within reach for every caller and texter.
“Let’s raise a glass to Mardie,” said Option Line Director Nafisa Kennedy, who went on to underscore Mardie’s devotion to delivering pregnancy help to those in need.
“For 20 years, she’s been the first one in the office, the last one willing to sign off, and the person we can always count on to keep things moving - often behind the scenes, just how she likes it,” Kennedy said. “Her dedication, sharp eye, humor, and heart make her invaluable.”
Laughlin’s colleagues describe her as someone who dives into new applications, hunts down problems, and keeps the team informed - usually before the first coffee of the day. Her commitment extends not just to the clients of Option Line, but to her fellow team members, fostering a spirit of excellence and care throughout the organization.

As Option Line continues to grow and reach more individuals in need of guidance and hope, Laughlin’s two decades of service stand as a shining example of dedication, compassion, and life-affirming impact, Kennedy said.
